HOW IT WORKS

FILL OUT FORM

Log-in to CITYREFUND Self-
service app and fill out
a Tax Free Form, right after the purchase is made.

When you are shopping, a special Tax Free Form shall be filled in by using the CITYREFUND Self-service app, right after the purchase is made by the following steps:

1. Log-In to your CITYREFUND account. If you are not registered in CITYREFUND, please go to Sign-In section to register your account. Once your account is set up, you can enjoy all the benefits of being a CITYREFUND member;
2. When you are logged in, go to MY ACCOUNT tab. Press the button CREATE A TAX FREE FORM and fill out a Tax Free Form for your purchase;
3. Go to SUMMARY to print out the Tax Free form you just created.

Please note that Tax Free form must be signed by shop assistant!
In some EU countries, it is required to put a special Tax Free label on the package of goods, that will allow identifying the goods at customs.
During your stay in EU you are eligible to receive VAT refund from the purchased goods in local online stores.
BUYING IN WEB SHOPS
During your stay in EU you are eligible to fill out the Tax Free form by using CITYREFUND Self-service app and to receive VAT refund from the purchased goods in EU online stores.
Please request the online store to deliver the VAT invoice together with the purchased goods. The issued invoice has to state the delivery address, while in Tax Free Form the address of your residency has to be indicated.

CUSTOMS

Departing from the EU country,
the customer shall present the
Tax Free Forms, receipts and the
purchased goods at the customs

You are obliged to export the goods abroad the EU by the end of the third month after the month in which you have bought them. Departing from the last EU country of your visit, please present your Tax Free Forms, receipts and the purchased goods at the customs. The goods have to be unopened and marked with CITYREFUND identification label. After the inspection of documents a customs official by stamping your Tax Free Forms will confirm the export of goods abroad the EU.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT CUSTOMS CONTROL
HOW TO OBTAIN THE EU CUSTOMS VALIDATION OF YOUR DOCUMENTS?
The EU customs validates your Tax Free Forms only on the day of your departure from the EU. When leaving a country, please show your Tax Free Forms together with receipts and your passport to a customs official.
After a customs official has checked your documents (may also require seeing the goods), your CITYREFUND Tax Free Forms will be stamped and afterwards can be sent to us for VAT refund in accordance with our terms and conditions.
Please note that your Tax Free Forms are valid to get the EU customs stamp only within three months period after the month of your purchase.
WHEN TRAVELING BY
AIRPLANE

When you are leaving the country to head home or to continue your journey outside the EU, please present at the EU customs your Tax Free Forms together with receipts and your airplane ticket.
Do not pack away your Tax Free purchases in your check-in luggage as you might need to present them to a customs official. Please schedule time reserve to validate your Tax Free documents at the airport.

Leaving the EU via a connecting flight through another EU country
Present your Tax Free documents at your final country of departure from the EU. In case you are required to pack your Tax Free purchases in the luggage, process your Tax Free documents at the airport of your initial check-in.

WHEN TRAVELING BY
CAR, BUS, TRAIN OR FERRY

Your Tax Free Forms should be stamped by a customs official at your final country of departure from the EU. When traveling by train, bus or ferry, customs control usually takes place on board.

If it is expected to cross the EU border at night, always notify the transport carrier or coach conductor about your necessity to receive customs stamp on your documents, i.e. Tax Free Forms. Do not pack your Tax Free purchases for away in your luggage as you might need to present them to the customs official!

N.B. Please take notice that at customs control it will be inspected if your permanent residence and abode is outside the EU territory; if you are not granted with a permanent residence permit in any EU country. Customs official are going to validate your Tax Free Form only if such data as your name, surname, country of residence, and passport number in your Tax Free Form will be identical to data in your passport.
At customs control the Tax Free goods must be presented unopened with undamaged CITYREFUND labeling. In case the CITYREFUND label is either absent or damaged, customs has the right to refuse to validate your Tax Free Form.

GET YOUR REFUND

Submit the original copies of stamped Tax Free Forms using CITYREFUND Self-service kiosk
or send them by post.

Upon receiving customs verification, in order to receive the tax refund, you shall submit the Tax Free Forms using CITYREFUND Self-service kiosk or send the Tax Free forms along with the cashier's receipts to CITYREFUND.
Please take the advantage of using special envelopes marked with CITYREFUND label to mail the documents from any country world-wide free of charge (no postage stamps required). Registered mail or courier delivery are recommended as secure and reliable way to send the documents.

Completed Tax Free Forms which have been stamped by Customs can be sent to:
